Food Safety Protocols for Growers

It seems that almost every week there is a new food safety warning or recall, and while many of these "instances" are publicized because of the national scope, there is really no way of know what is happening at the local level. Has someone become ill because of product purchased at a Farmers Market or roadside stand? Was that product yours? What are you as a grower doing to insure a safe food supply and how do you compare to the industry benchmarks?

Fortunately, there is a Food Safety Auditing company more interested in promoting Food Safety than in promoting their own "dot.comness". Primus Labs is the premier third party auditing company in the world. They can provide you (the local  grower) with a complete process to develop your own operational Standard Operating Procedures (formats in Word allowing customization or in PDF as a training exercise). Once you have sompleted the on-line process, you may return to their website at any time in the future to:

  • Alter your manuals at: Primus Labs Food Auditing Manuals
  • Perform self audits on your operation at: Primus Labs Self Audit. The results of your self-audit will be e-mailed to your attention with a benchmark for what Primus see's throughout the industry.
  • Access the audit Standard Operating Procedures as well as the guidelines to audits, which is an excellent training tool for growers and handlers of all sizes.

This is the same Food Safety protocol and process that the largest growers in the country currently use. Primus has hundreds of clients all over the world, and they offer you the same opportunity to develop, audit and alter your own food safety protocol, and to then measure it against the best benchmarks in the industry. This is a World Class program that local growers can and should  utilize to better understand what is required to help insure a safe food supply.

And what is the cost to you for this offer? ZERO.

So what's the "catch"? Nothing...Primus labs is providing you with all the tools to develop your own Food Safety Audit protocol for free. Now, if you want to become certified, you will need to pay for a third party auditor to inspect your operation and Primus can help you find one, but that is entirely your decision.

Upon completion of the processes on www.PrimusLabs.com, you will have a customized Food Safety Protocol that rivals any produce supplier in the country. This can be a a tremendous sales point for you. All customers (whether individuals, retail buyers or restaurants) want to buy food that has been grown and handled in a safe manner.

So we here at LocavoreNetwork, urge you to take advantage of this Fantastic offer. It's good for the food supply, it's good for your customers, and it's good for you.
